new jobs for america

Uncle Bonsai's in the middle of working on LOTS of new material, much of it revolving around the theme of "New Jobs For America." To be honest, they're not normal jobs . . . let's call them alternative jobs! Yeah, that's it . . . alternative. People can't be picky these days, right? So, maybe a job like "Pool Party Starter," (people who come to your pool party already completely wet so that no one has to be the first in the pool) might be an option. ANYWAY, these shows will have all sorts of new songs, many of them about "jobs," but will also feature a number of songs, some of our favorites, that have gotten lost along the way. We tried out the first batch of songs, with the help of the Seattle Folklore Society, on January 21st. We'll be introducing the next batch of songs sometime in March, probably around the weekend of the 9th/10th. We'll be recording our shows in Ann Arbor, Chicago, and Madison, and then, finally, we'll be back at The Triple Door in Seattle, on May 18th, to record the live cd!

the grim parade - the latest cd

The New Uncle Bonsai Release: Order Your Copy Today!
The Grim Parade, the first new Uncle Bonsai release in almost 10 years,
is a collection of live and studio performances that continue to explore
unflinching portrayals of life, love, and a guy named Doug.
Song's like "The Baby's Head," "I Would Come Back," "Loving Tommy," and
11 others, focus on the passing of time, the passing of genes, and the
passing of pets -- the truth of everything seemingly buried somewhere
under the family tree. [For lyrics, click here!]
Copies are available all retail and online stores, in addition to the Yellow Tail Records store. The group has CDs avaialble at all their upcoming shows.
There's a recession going on, if you didn't notice. Now, we suppose that you could invest but, really, what's the point? THESE kind of cds will last for years and, to be honest, you would probably enjoy hearing some of this music more than listening to the financial reports. So, since we were starting a whole new online store anyway, we thought we'd offer you an extra 5% off any order. Just try the new order form and put TRYME in the coupon box; 5% will automatically be deducted from your final total.
The News Page and Message Boards are a great way to keep up with what's going on at the moment.
